Andrew Philbin – Sidewalk Advocates For Life
www.sidewalkadvocates.org

Andrew Philbin is a life-long resident of Cleveland, Ohio who had a strong reversion back to his Catholic faith two years ago.  He answered God’s call to be a voice for the voiceless and became the program Director for Sidewalk Advocates for Life – Cleveland.  This group, since its inception on the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe in 2020, has helped 63 women to walk away from the busiest abortion facility in the State of Ohio and into life-affirming resources that they desperately needed to make a choice for life.  He attended Saint Ignatius High School and washed airplanes at Burke Lakefront after school in exchange for flying lessons at the age of 14.  He is currently employed as an Airbus captain and Lead Line Check Airman at a major airline.

If 2020 has taught us anything, it is that fear is an extremely powerful emotion.  If we asked anyone five years ago if they thought all Catholic Churches would shutter their doors and we would not have access to the real presences of our Eucharistic Lord, the thought would be inconceivable.  Women facing unexpected pregnancy are afraid.  How do we as Catholic Christians respond to that fear and give them that which sets us apart from non-believers, hope?

John B. Scarano – Director of Campus Ministry
John Carroll University

Faith on a College Campus: Where the Church Meets the World

For students, college is a time to search for meaning, and to make decisions that often impact the rest of their lives. Campus Ministry’s mission is to accompany students on this incredible journey. We strive to equip students to lead lives of deeper meaning, belonging and purpose.  Campus Ministers are privileged to help young people explore life’s big questions, and to stretch them to a place where they can embrace their faith, a faith that may look very different from our own.  Over the span of the past 35 years, I have come to rely on God’s grace to be powerfully active and abundantly available on campus.  While this Church on campus is often misunderstood, the stories of grace that I have heard and witnessed attest to the reality that faith on a college campus is alive and well, vibrant, compelling, and authentic.

In August, 2003, he began his tenure as the Director of Campus Ministry at John Carroll University.  Prior to coming to Cleveland, he served as the Director of the Newman Catholic Student Center at Southern Illinois University, in Carbondale, IL, and as the Diocesan Director of Campus Ministry for the Diocese of Belleville, IL.  He has also served as the Director of the Catholic Student Center for the University of Miami, in Florida, and the Director of Campus Ministry at Ursuline College.  John has a Master’s degree in Theology from the University of Notre Dame with a concentration in Scripture.  He has been a full time, lay minister in the Catholic Church since 1981.

THE POWER OF HEALING PRAYER

Jesus still heals today. Not only does Jesus still heal today, but healing is
also a very powerful form of evangelization. Jesus never preached the
Gospel of the Kingdom of God without demonstrating the presence of that
Kingdom through signs, wonders, and miracles. Healing is the most
frequent demonstration of God’s love.

Healing prayer is much more than just physical healing. It encompasses
healing of the whole person, memories, emotions, fears, anxieties, physical
and spiritual It encompasses healing of the whole person, memories, emotions, fears, anxieties, physical and spiritual.

Founded in 2016 Peter’s Shadow is a Healing Prayer Ministry whose

through healing and conversion of hearts.
We have established teams of Catholic Christians who have been called
