Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland
Currently in her third term in congregational leadership, now as President, Sister Laura has served at Beaumont School as a teacher and as Director of Recruitment and Admissions. She also ministered as principal at Ascension School (Cleveland) and Our Lady of the Lake School (Euclid). Prior to her election to the leadership team, Sister Laura served in the congregation’s Development Office.
Sister Laura has served on the national board of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR), the executive planning committee of the North American Ursuline Leadership Conference and as co-executive director of the Conference of Religious Leadership in the diocese. She currently serves as a member of two Boards of Directors: Ursuline College and Beaumont School.

From exhilarating and tumultuous travels over the Atlantic Ocean in 1850 to generative service in the 21st Century, the Ursuline Sisters have been part of the Diocese of Cleveland almost since its inception. As the first religious congregation in the diocese, the sisters established the parochial system of schools with Bishop Rappe and parish priests. Their joyful witness to the gospel has courageously withstood anti-Catholic and anti-immigrant sentiment, survived economic challenges and always sought to embody the spirit of their foundress, Saint Angela Merici. Care for the individual, contemplative presence, and dynamic adaptability are among their hallmarks. Come and hear the stories of over 1,000 Ursuline Sisters, recognize your place as part of their extended family and commit to being part of the ongoing legacy of justice, compassion and contemplation.
